Mission, Vision, and Objectives
FMO Mission
FMO oversees accounting and finance operations and programs to allow the DON to operate effectively and efficiently. FMO also produces accurate, timely and useful financial information for internal and external use by decision makers. FMO does this to help achieve the operational and support missions of the Navy and Marine Corps.
FMO Vision
To achieve this mission, FMO develops and provides the planning and execution for the integrated DON financial management activities with emphasis on accounting and finance. In addition, FMO provides policy, guidance, procedures and oversight on:
- Accounting and Finance systems
- Accounting and Finance practices, operations, and reporting
- Finance services and programs to include purchase card, travel card, banks and other financial institutions and civilian and military pay/compensation
- Quality assurance (internal controls) and risk management of business processes
- FMO's vision is to be a world class provider of accounting and financial services by:
- Proactively informing decisions
- Incorporating sound internal controls
- Leveraging innovative technologies
- Optimizing the value derived from FMO's service providers
