For Non-CAC Holders, Visitors, and Deliveries:
Please proceed to the 11th and O Street Gate (1022 O St SE) and register at the Naval District Washington Visitor's Center.
For CAC Holders:
Please proceed to any of the following gates:
- 6th St SE and M St SE – Closest gate to FMO; CAC required for entrance
- 9th St SE and M St SE – CAC required for entrance
- 11th St SE and O St SE (1022 O St SE) – visitor's entrance

Parking:
Personal Vehicles are permitted on the Washington Navy Yard on WEEKENDS ONLY. Ample parking is available in front of the US Navy Museum. All white spaces are available for visitors. Vehicle registration and proof of insurance or rental agreement are required. The blue parking spaces on the Washington Navy Yard are reserved for visitors. If you anticipate parking on the Yard longer than three hours, please stop by the Naval District Washington Visitor Center to obtain a temporary parking permit. The Visitor Center is located in the building inside the 11th and O Street Gate. For more information, please contact the Visitors Center at (202) 433-3738/3506. Also, parking is available for $10.00 in the lot adjacent to the Navy Yard at the intersection of 6th St. and M St., SE.
Public Transit:
The Navy Yard is accessible by both the Navy Yard (green) and Eastern Market (blue and orange) metro station
- Eastern Market Metro Station (Orange/Blue Line): Exit the metro station and walk south on 8th St SE for 0.5 miles. Turn left onto M St SE and continue for one more block
- Navy Yard Metro Station (Green Line): Exit the metro station via New Jersey Ave and walk east on M St until you come to 9th St SE
Visitors:
All visitors must enter the Washington Navy Yard via the gate located at the intersection of 11th and O Streets in Southeast (SE). Individuals above the age of 16 are required to have a valid government-issued ID card, such as a driver's license, State ID, passport, or Common Access Card (CAC). Guests accompanied by children under the age of 16 will be responsible for those children. Large handbags and backpacks may be searched by Security.
