Risk Management and Assessment Branch Overview

The Risk Management and Assessment Branch is responsible for internal controls throughout the DON. The branch is responsible for the following programs:

  • Managers' Internal Control (MIC) Program
  • Internal Controls Over Financial Reporting (ICOFR) Program

The MIC Program is responsible for all internal controls in the DON other than financial controls. The DON's internal financial controls are the responsibility of ICOFR.

Internal Controls over Financial Reporting (ICOFR) Program

ICOFR supports the DON in meeting Office of Management and Budget (OMB) re-issued Circular A-123, which establishes the basis of a certification that financial internal controls are in place and effective.
