The Assurance and Risk Management Division is the sponsor of the Manager's Internal Control (MIC) Program as well as the Department of the Navy Financial Improvement Program (DON FIP), a multiyear Department-wide effort to strengthen and transform Navy-Marine Corps business processes and systems to better serve worldwide operations.

The Assurance and Risk Management Division is comprised of two branches:

  1. Risk Management and Assessment (FMO-41)

    The Risk Management and Assessment branch is responsible for the Manager's Internal Control Program (MIC) and the Internal Controls Over Financial Reporting (ICOFR) program.
  2. Financial Improvement and Audit Readiness (FMO-42)

    The Financial Improvement and Audit Readiness (FIAR) branch is responsible for managing the audit readiness activities across the DON.
